RICS Report: Surveying Industry Getting Increased By Young Surveyors
Annually, the ‘RICS Matrics UK Young Surveyor Awards’ recognize the outstanding and inspiring talents, set to be the future leaders in the profession. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is a professional association that is dedicated to promoting and enforcing the highest international standards in the development, management, and valuation of the real estate, land, construction, and infrastructure. A research conducted by RICS revealed that there has been a 30% increase in the number of young surveyors. That means the young generation is seeing the benefits of having a career as Party Wall Surveyor.
In the UK, the percentage of female surveyors is less than 14%. However, the recent research conducted by RICS revealed that there has been an increase in the number of young professional women who entered the ‘Young Surveyor of the Year Awards’. This research also revealed that there has been a steady increase each year in the number of young people (between 18 and 30 years of age) who can qualify as the Associate or the Chartered Surveyors.
- In 2013, the number of young (18–30 years of age) qualified surveyors was 1,125.
- In 2018, the number of qualified surveyors (belonging to the same age group) increased to 1,520.
